Semapa is a Portuguese industrial holding whose main industrial exposure is pulp and paper through its controlling stake in The Navigator Company, a large European producer of uncoated printing and writing paper and related forest products. The group has also held interests in cement and other industrial activities as part of a diversified materials portfolio. Its role is that of a long-term industrial shareholder and manager of operational subsidiaries rather than a pure financial investor.
