About NYSE
The New York Stock Exchange still runs a physical floor, where designated market makers handle the opening and closing auctions that anchor much of the day's reference pricing. Its roster skews older and heavier than Nasdaq's: Berkshire Hathaway, JPMorgan, Exxon Mobil, Johnson & Johnson, Walmart and Procter & Gamble, plus the banks, railroads, insurers and utilities that carry the industrial economy. Quarterly filing is mandatory, so the fundamentals block shows revenue and earnings per quarter beside the chart. Trend labels come from where the price sits against its fifty-day and two-hundred-day moving averages, and from the slope of the longer one. Everything is quoted in US dollars.
